Sevillian ceramics

We have already seen on several occasions how Seville is full of small ceramic treasures , whether in Plaza de España or in the streets of the city, these works of art are part of the heart and of that "special color of the city". But if this ceramic catches our attention, we cannot leave Seville without looking back at one of the most emblematic places with the greatest artisan tradition in the Triana neighborhood, the Centro Cerámica Triana .

We were talking recently about the Plaza de España , well many of the works that adorn its provincial banks and part of the interiors came from the Santa Ana Ceramic Center.

This factory was one of the last ceramic production centers in Seville, as well as one of the most representative of art. Thanks to its fame and relevance in the pottery culture of Triana, in 2014 the Seville City Council and Cerámica Santa Ana reached an agreement whereby the city council bought the vast majority of works, designs and products made by the company to build the workshop that we now know as Centro Cerámica Triana .

  • This museum is undoubtedly one of the greatest monuments to the true craftsmanship that makes the city of Seville famous, on its two floors we can find works by Aníbal González, which decorated the Plaza de España along with many other murals and tiles, as well as works borrowed from Vicente Carranza and Alfonso Pleguezelo from different corners of Andalusia. On the other hand, the museum shows us a tour of the restored interior of the old factory, where the guides make it clear to us the work process that the workers followed there, their different tasks and tools that these artisans used, the ovens, the tanks of clay, the so famous potter's wheel, or the paint tables for the various pieces.

No matter where you look at it, the Triana Ceramic Center is an essential visit to not only appreciate, but also understand this art that we try to carry out at Artesanía Sevilla .
